First Earth: Book One in the Arch Mage Series was announced as a Finalist for Teen, Debut Author and SciFi / Fantasy categories in the Feathered Quill Book Awards. Evidently the submissions for this year greatly increased over past years. The judges gave high marks and a few books received this honorable mention. Award winners can be found here. I hadn’t imagined winning an award. This is closer than what I thought I might get when my husband said he had entered me. So I was very pleased when he told me I had been chosen as a finalist in 3 categories. One of the hardest things to do as an author is put your work out there for criticism. Be it reviews, editors, beta readers or awards.
